Filing with the DPA
On filing, the Maltese DPA answers the following:
"This is to acknowledge receipt of your complaint which is being herewith attached for your record.
Next Steps:
1. A preliminary assessment of your complaint will be conducted to determine the admissibility. If we deem your complaint inadmissible, we will inform you of the decision together with the reasons for such decision.
2. If your complaint is considered admissible, we may ask for additional information to support your claim prior to initiating the investigation procedure.
3. The investigation procedure will include the following steps:
- A copy or a summary of your complaint will be forwarded to the controller responsible for the processing of your personal data. [In the event that your complaint concerns a controller established in another MS, this will be considered as a cross-border case and will be forwarded to the competent supervisory authority which will be responsible for the investigation in terms of its own procedure.
